Beginning therapy is a powerful act of self-awareness. Here's what to expect as we begin this journey together.

Starting Therapy

Embarking on therapy can feel both hopeful and uncertain—especially if it’s your first time. My role is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and attuned to your individual needs. Whether you're looking for focused short-term support or open-ended exploration, you are welcome here.

Our work together begins with a free 20-minute consultation, giving you the chance to ask questions, share what brings you to therapy, and see how it feels to speak with me. If we decide to move forward, we’ll arrange a regular session time that fits your availability and needs.

Therapeutic Style

My integrative, trauma-informed approach combines psychodynamic insight with transpersonal depth and existential reflection. I work relationally—meaning our therapeutic relationship is a key part of the process—and I encourage curiosity, creativity, and emotional honesty.

Depending on your needs, we may:

  • Work with symbolism, metaphor, or dreams

  • Explore ancestral or family patterns

  • Uncover unconscious blocks or past influences

  • Focus on present challenges and personal strengths

  • It is one of the few places, if any, I feel completely safe to explore parts of myself that I had left hidden. I cannot recommend it enough.

FAQs

How often are sessions?

Most clients attend therapy once per week at a regular time. This helps build consistency and depth in the process. Fortnightly or twice-weekly sessions can be arranged in some cases.

Is the first session a consultation?

Your free 20-minute consultation happens before the first paid session. The first full session is the start of our therapeutic work together.

What if I’ve had therapy before and it didn’t help?

It’s not uncommon to have mixed or difficult experiences with therapy. We can explore what didn’t feel right in the past and make space for your hesitations. Every therapeutic relationship is different.

What if I need to cancel?

I ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session, otherwise the full fee is payable.

How do I get started?

Get in touch via the Contact page to arrange a free 20-minute consultation. From there, we’ll agree on a session time and begin.

Will everything I say be kept confidential?

Yes. Sessions are private and confidential in line with NCPS and CCPE guidelines. There are rare legal exceptions (e.g., immediate risk of harm), which I will explain clearly before we begin.

How long will therapy last?

This depends on your goals. Some clients find 8–10 sessions helpful for short-term support, while others engage in longer-term work. We’ll review progress regularly and work at a pace that feels right for you.

What kind of issues do you work with?

I welcome a wide range of experiences, including:

  • Anxiety, grief, depression

  • Complex trauma and PTSD

  • Neurodivergence (including late-diagnosed ADHD)

  • Identity, sexuality, and gender

  • Narcissistic abuse and coercive control

  • Childhood emotional neglect or abuse

  • Racial trauma and cultural dislocation

DO YOU OFFER CONCESSIONARY FEES?

I believe therapy should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. That’s why I’ve committed up to 16 hours each month to offer no-cost or low-cost sessions as part of my practice’s effort to support individuals from all walks of life.

At this time, all of my concession slots are fully booked, and I’m unable to take on new clients at a reduced rate. For now, I’m only able to offer sessions at my standard rate of £100 a session.

Thank you for your understanding, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to book a session.
